Everguard PL is a unique homo-polypeptide consisting of 25–30 L-lysine residues. Unlike standard peptides formed at the alpha-carbon, it features an epsilon-linkage (epsilon amino group to carboxyl group), which confers distinctive cationic polymer properties. This positive charge allows it to electrostatically adsorb onto negatively charged bacterial cell surfaces, leading to membrane disruption and rapid cell death.
Key Benefit: An “Electrostatic Pathogen Disruptor“ that provides exceptionally potent activity against P. aeruginosa and doubles as a moisture-retaining polypeptide for skin and hair.
Performance & Antimicrobial Efficacy
-
Comprehensive Spectrum: Impressively potent MIC data across 19 organisms, including bacteria (B. subtilis, S. aureus, E. coli), yeasts (S. cerevisiae), and molds (A. niger).
-
The Pseudomonas Killer: Demonstrates exceptionally low MICs against P. aeruginosa, one of the most notoriously difficult organisms to control in cosmetic water phases.
-
Thermal & pH Stability: register to find out
-
Multifunctional Moisture: Beyond safety, the polypeptide structure naturally enhances moisture retention on the skin and hair.
Formulation & Handling Guidelines
Everguard PL is highly water-soluble and if it has broad spectrum ability it is often used as a powerful booster in combination with preservatives and multifunctionals
EverGuard PL is a natural broad-spectrum antimicrobial, Polylysine, a natural polyamino acid comprising 25–40 L-lysine units, produced by fermentation of Streptomyces albulus.
