Evicide® G 8 eco (INCI: Caprylyl Glycol) is a powerful, multifunctional antimicrobial and preservative boosting agent sourced naturally from palm oil. As a member of the 1,2-alkanediol family, it represents a sustainable shift in modern preservation, offering a balance between skin-friendliness and high efficacy. Its amphiphilic structure allows it to function not only as a potent preservative booster but also as a moisturizer, skin conditioner, and penetration enhancer for other active ingredients.
At lower concentration it can be used as a preservative booster whereas at higher concentration as a full spectrum antimicrobial.
Key Benefits
- Powerful Antimicrobial Activity: Specifically effective against bacteria, yeast, and mold, even at low concentrations.
- Preservative Boosting: Acts as a synergistic agent that enhances the performance of mild preservatives and organic acids.
- Multifunctional Performance: Functions as a moisturizer and skin conditioner while aiding in the creation of homogenous droplet dispersions in O/W emulsions.
- Penetration Enhancer: Improves the delivery of active ingredients into deeper skin layers.
- pH Independent: Maintains efficacy across a wide range of pH levels, offering flexibility for various formulation types.
