Sensicare® C 2050

Sensicare® C 2050 (INCI: Caprylyl Glycol, Benzoic Acid, Propanediol) is a high-performance, liquid preservative blend. By combining the optimized chain length of Caprylyl Glycol (C8) with the organic acid power of Benzoic Acid and the boosting properties of 1,3-Propanediol, this blend delivers a sophisticated “hurdle” technology approach. It is a slightly yellowish, transparent liquid designed to provide broad-spectrum protection in both natural and conventional cosmetic formulations.

  • Proven Broad-Spectrum Efficacy: it is highly effective against the complete range of challenge test organisms:

    • Gram-negative bacteria: Including E. coli and the resilient Pseudomonas aeruginosa.

    • Gram-positive bacteria: Including Staphylococcus aureus.

    • Fungi and Yeasts: Including Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans.

  • Multifunctional Skin Support: Beyond its primary role in preservation, the components function as:

    • Emollients: Improving the spreadability and skin-feel of the final product.

Formulation Guidelines

  • pH Dependent: Because this blend contains Benzoic Acid, its antimicrobial activity is pH-dependent. To ensure the organic acid remains in its active, undissociated form, the final formulation must be adjusted within the recommended pH range
