AquaVITA® 95 is a simplified, two-component system that achievespalm-free status by replacing palm-derived Glyceryl Caprylate with Polylysine. Polylysine is a naturally derived antimicrobial peptide produced via the fermentation of Streptomyces albulus. It provides a more robust antimicrobial backbone than the 90 variant while delivering the same Niacinamide-driven benefits: barrier repair, TEWL reduction, and anti-aging.
Key Benefit: A synergistic “Nutrient-Shield” that reinforces the skin’s biological barrier through Niacinamide while providing high-potency, palm-free preservation via a fermented cationic biopolymer
Performance & Clinical Efficacy
-
Superior MIC Data: Shows notably lower MIC values than AquaVITA® 90 across all five standard organisms, indicating stronger intrinsic potency.
-
Extended Bacterial Panel: Successfully tested against four additional cosmetic contaminants: K. pneumoniae, B. cepacia, B. marcescens, and E. gergoviae (Pluralibacter gergoviae).
-
High-Risk Defense: The inclusion of E. gergoviae data is critical, as this organism is notoriously resistant to parabens and a frequent cause of product recalls.
-
Challenge Test Success: Passed USP/EP Category 1 criteria in four distinct formulation types (nonionic cream, cationic mask, and anionic shampoo) at pH 6.5.
- Proven Safety: A sample wiht the maximum recommended concentration was clinically tested on sensitive skin and found to be both non-irritant and non-sensitizing
Formulation & Handling Guidelines
AquaVITA® 95 offers significantly more flexibility than its predecessor due to its high water solubility and pH-independent nature.
Compatible with anionic, nonionic and cationic surfactants and non-ionic rheology modifiers such as hydroxyethylcellulose. Especially suited for products with high water content requiring transparency — tonics, lotions, essences and micellar waters. Thanks to its high water solubility, it can be added at any stage of the production process.
