SharoWIPES 650

SharoWIPES 650 addresses the “dual substrate” challenge of wet wipes, where both the liquid lotion and the non-woven fabric require protection. While hydrophobic preservatives often fail by binding to the fabric rather than staying in the liquid, this hydrophilic system ensures even distribution. It features an inspired-by-nature blend of organic acids and Zinc Lactate, which provides a unique defense against bacterial biofilms.

Key Benefit: A “Biofilm-Disrupting Shield” that prevents bacteria from irreversibly adhering to non-woven fibers while providing broad-spectrum protection for the surrounding liquid formula.

Performance & Anti-Biofilm Activity

  • Biofilm Disruption: Zinc ions contribute antimicrobial activity while specifically targeting and disrupting the biofilm matrix (polysaccharides and proteins) that shields bacteria on fabric surfaces.
  • Hydrophilic Efficacy: Carefully selected water-soluble components prevent the selective “adsorption” issues common with oil-soluble preservatives in wipes.
  • Challenge Test Success: Passed USP/EP Category 1 in a nonionic wet wipe formulation (pH 5.5) on a 20% viscose / 80% PET substrate.
  • Microbial Reduction: Bacteria were reduced to <10 cfu/g by Day 14, with all fungi meeting Category 1 acceptance by Day 28.
