Cosphaderm® GMCY RSPO/MB is a high-purity glyceryl caprylate, a monoester of glycerine and caprylic acid derived from vegetable oil. With a minimum monoester content of 88%, it delivers effective antimicrobial activity and is a true multifunctional ingredient — also offering emollient, co-emulsifying, moisturising, wetting, and refatting properties. It is free of allergenic potential, and shows excellent skin compatibility.
It functions as a multifunctional additive that contributes to preservation and is best combined with other multifunctionals in alternative preservation systems. It can be incorporated into the oil or water phase, or dissolved in alcohols or diols.
Long-term heating above 80°C (>30 minutes) should be avoided.
As a surface-active substance, it may influence emulsifier systems, which can be managed by adjusting emulsifier polarity or adding it post-crystallisation.
