GreenGard LB is a patent-pending, 100% biobased multifunctional preservation system, supplied as a liquid (INCI: Arginine Levulinate / Arginine Benzoate / Water).
The system combines the antimicrobial properties of natural levulinic acid and benzoic acid in their arginine salt forms. The arginine component delivers additional multifunctional skin benefits confirmed by in-vitro testing: reduction of trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL) and upregulation of collagen I production, making it particularly well suited to skin care applications. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, and moulds, with very good efficacy against bacteria and yeast, and sufficient efficacy against mould.
